Enhance Your Leadership: Question the Assumption

This week’s issue is all about Question the Assumption. Jack Welch said, “The team that sees reality the best wins”. In our fast-paced world, the problems we face are often built on unexamined beliefs. By challenging these, we open up new possibilities and perspectives.

This week, we're diving into a powerful exercise that challenges us to look deeper and question the foundations of our issues.

💡 Skill Spotlight

The components of Question the Assumption are:

  1. Start with a problem you’re facing (if you’re in a group, give the speaker your full presence while they state the problem)

  2. Identify an assumption underlying the problem

  3. Think of a neutral, curious question that challenges that assumption

Questioning assumptions is like putting on a new pair of glasses – suddenly, you see the world differently. Remember, the goal isn't to prove assumptions wrong but to open up our thinking and discover new possibilities.

🏃🏾‍♂️Try This

This upcoming week, set aside 10 minutes with a journal to practice Question the Assumption. You can also do this in a conversation with a friend!
