Authentic Austin's October Update
Lots of great stuff this week, friends. Let’s get into it!
❗Housekeeping Update
tl;dr: A² newsletters will pause for November and resume on an every-other-week cadence in early December. Meetups will continue, facilitated by my friends and cool humans Dave Gorum and Kristen Pavle!
The slightly longer story: I’m heading to Asia for 5 weeks to trek Nepal and immerse myself in the healing traditions of Southeast Asia. Asian cultures have long known the value of living in community, something it feels like the West has forgotten until recently. I’m leaving most of the itinerary open and excited to share once I’m back!

🧑🤝🧑 From The Community
❗I want to start using this section to promote offerings, events, and community gatherings aligned with A²’s mission. The work of living authentically is a global effort and bigger than just this community.
If you want me to include something, send it over!

🚧 A² newsletter redesign
It’s been two months since A² started, and I’m so grateful to see blossoms forming. 🌸
The main focus of A² has been the depth that comes from long, slow, authentic conversations in person. And that will continue to be my primary focus.
I also want everything A²-related to be exceptionally valuable for you and I only want to send you things that meet that promise. Your feedback is invaluable to making that happen. Could you take 2 minutes to share how I’m doing so far?
☕🍵 Cuppa catch-ups are coming in December!
What is this? Every month, I’m going to reserve some time on my calendar for the chance to connect with you!
Who is this for? Anyone, everyone, YOU! I love connecting with people. If you’d like to connect, swap stories, open up about your life, or chat about the spiritual dynamics of Summer House, then this is for you!
What’s the catch? There is no catch or sales pitch. If you have a question for me I'm happy to answer it, or we can just talk about our favorite anime or taco recipes.
Why cuppa? Because not everyone drinks coffee. And Aussie slang is fun!
We're building Conscious Connection by inviting both the market-focused leader AND the spiritual seeker within you to the table.
Know anyone that’s looking for more of that in their life? I’d appreciate if you invite them to our next event!
💡 Skill Spotlight
tl;dr: The “Needs Work” process helps us turn rejections into opportunities for growth.
Rejection sucks. And it’s something that we all go through. So how do we use it as fuel for our growth? The "Needs Work" process is a powerful tool for turning rejections into opportunities for growth and improvement. Here's how it works:
Call up the failure/rejection you experienced. Visualize it exactly as it happened, step by step.
Stop at the -1 action that led to the failure/rejection.
Visualize yourself taking a +1 action instead.
Smile as you alchemize your failure/rejection as fuel for your growth!
This simple practice helps us mine our experiences for learning, which creates a psychological WIN out of failure or rejection. And, visualizing ourselves taking a +1 action makes us less likely to repeat mistakes in the future.
