Try This: The Whole Body Yes
🏃🏾♂️Try This
This upcoming week, set aside 10 minutes in a private space to practice mapping a Whole Body Yes. You can also do this in a conversation with a friend or coach!
1. Start with 5 minutes of grounding with whatever practice helps you feel present and in the moment.
This could be: jumping jacks, 5 minutes of meditation, or breathwork.
2. With your eyes closed, imagine a situation that was a clear “NO” for you.
Feel the “NO” in your body. What sensations do you feel and where do you feel them?
Note this down in a journal or share with your friend.
3. Take 1-2 minutes to ground yourself again. With your eyes closed, imagine a situation that was a “meh” for you.
Feel the “meh” in your body. What sensations do you feel and where do you feel them?
Note this down in a journal or share with your friend.
4. Take 1-2 minutes to ground yourself again. With your eyes closed, imagine a situation that was a resounding “FUCK YES” for you.
Feel the “FUCK YES” in your body. What sensations do you feel and where do you feel them?
Note this down in a journal or share with your friend.
5. Take 1-2 minutes to ground yourself again. Now, think of an issue/ask that is in your life right now.
With your eyes closed, bring the issue/ask into your mind and body and listen to the sensations around it. Using your BQ (Bodily Intelligence), what is your body telling you about how you feel about it?
By building our BQ (Bodily Intelligence) with practices like the Whole Body Yes, we make better decisions that are more aligned with our authentic selves. This is a great tool to use if you feel like you should feel great about something, but don’t.
